This is a Concours Restoration of a BMW 1954 R51/3 that once belonged to a friend and mentor. This is a top to bottom, inside and out, period correct restoration. Every component was stripped, evaluated and rebuilt. It is even painted with vintage lacquer paint that came from an unopened salvaged can of paint from the late ’60s. Every detail has been addressed including re-plating of all fasteners and use of period correct parts. The BMW R51/3 was BMW’s first modern post-war 500cc motorcycle. Production years were 1951-1954.
